Miltenyi Biotec Achieves CDP Leadership Rating (A-) for Climate and Water Transparency

Miltenyi Biotec has been awarded an A- rating by CDP, a global non-profit organization that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure system. This score places the company in the Leadership band, CDP’s highest performance category, awarded to organizations that demonstrate best practice in environmental transparency and action. Companies in this band are among the most transparent, strategic, and go beyond disclosure to lead on climate and water stewardship. It signifies that an organization not only discloses comprehensive environmental data, understands its environmental impacts, and manages them effectively – it also adopts and integrates industry best practices, demonstrates innovative strategies, and leads proactively in addressing climate and water governance.

CDP applies a rigorous and independent methodology to evaluate disclosure quality, risk awareness, environmental management, and evidence of best practice. Scores range from A to D-, reflecting the degree of ambition, target-setting, and action. CDP maintains the world’s largest repository of environmental data. Its scoring system is widely used by investors and procurement teams seeking to accelerate progress toward a net-zero, sustainable global economy.

Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, commented: “A CDP score is a sign of commitment to high-quality data that enables companies to take earth-positive economic decisions that future-proof their operations, improving access to capital, competitiveness and compliance. Tackling environmental risks head-on will create a more resilient economy and increase companies’ ability to innovate and invest.”

Additional sustainability milestones

This CDP Leadership rating complements Miltenyi Biotec’s strong performance in other sustainability assessments. In this year’s EcoVadis evaluation, Miltenyi Biotec achieved a score of 58/100 for 2025 (based on 2023–2024 data), earning the Committed badge and placing in the 58th percentile for the company’s sector. EcoVadis is a leading global sustainability rating platform, assessing companies on environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

In addition, Miltenyi Biotec has submitted its near-term and long-term net-zero climate targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for validation, with the approval process currently underway. This submission, completed in November 2025, marks an important step in the company’s journey toward a net-zero future.

Transparency is an important foundation for meaningful climate action,” said Dr. Boris Stoffel, Managing Director of Miltenyi Biotec. “We are pleased to see our efforts recognized by CDP and remain focused on our commitment to sustainability and advancing our science-based targets. These steps are part of our broader responsibility to reduce environmental impact while advancing innovation in cell and gene therapy.
